Waste Hierarchy
The Waste Hierarchy is a globally recognised tool used to evaluate and proritise processes that promote waste avoidance ahead of recycling and disposal. Basically, the further up the hierarchy you go, the greater the environmental outcome!
The best way we can reduce the impact of our waste is to produce less of it, so reducing, reusing or recycling to avoid contributing to landfill as much as possible is a key focus for us. Where we can’t do this by changing the way we operate we’ll look at viable energy recovery options, with landfill our last resort.
