The bet that created a burger.
You probably know by now, but Nando’s has just released a brand-new item: the PERi Pineapple Sanga. Of course, just like the rest of our menu, it’s absolutely delicious. But unlike everything else, it has more unconventional origins.
Y’see, it all started with a cheeky wager. A simple bet. One between renowned sandwich aficionado, Bangin Sangas (aka. Ross Howse), and the Nando’s top brass.
Armed with his very own mouthwatering ‘burger hack’, Howse challenged us to add his bespoke recipe to the menu, in return for 1M Instagram views.
We called his bluff. Obviously. But as history would have it, we lost. Convincingly.
1.3M views (and counting) later, this viral creation is now officially part of the Nando’s menu. And, we couldn’t be more thrilled.
Equal parts sweet, smoky, and spicy, this beast-of-a-bite is a delicious combo of flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken, capsicum relish, fiery PERi Crackle, double pineapple, and slaw, all sandwiched between a toasted garlic bread roll.
It’s available in Nando’s restaurants across Australia and New Zealand for a limited time until 2 December 2024.
